Danby DDW1899BLS Dishwasher
For a small dishwasher, this one by Danby is a pretty good choice for the price. Having used what I consider “noisy” dishwashers in the past I love just how quiet this device runs. This makes a great appliance for someone in a small home, condo or apartment. Some users have not liked that it is small; it seems that some people have a hard time fitting 8 full places settings in the dishwasher at one time even though the manufacturer states that it can hold it. It is an Energy Star compliant appliance so you can rest assured that your money is not going down the drain with energy waste.
The controls are simple and it gives you up to 7 different wash cycles, a detergent and rinse agent dispenser as well. It was made with a durable stainless steel spray arm and interior which keeps the interior from breaking down like plastic can over time. It measures 22 inches deep, 17.5 inches wide and 32.5 inches high. I suggest you measure your plates before purchasing because anything over 10 inches won’t fit in the bottom tray.
Maytag JetClean Plus MDB7759AWS Dishwasher
This dishwasher uses a high pressure washing system with powerful jets to get your dishes clean. The motor should last a long time as well. It measures 23 7/8 inches wide, 34.5 inches high and 24.5 inches deep. The controls are tucked away for a nice sleek look on the outside which I personally like, but some people don’t like that having the buttons out of sight can make it hard to know where you are in your washing cycle. Also, if the unit just barely fits in your home, you might have a hard time getting your fingers to the top of the door to start and stop the machine; so make sure to check your measurements before purchase.
The interior is made with 100% stainless steel for better drying and longer life. The jets are positioned so those hard to reach places get cleaned easily. The upper rack is made to be more durable and efficient than in previous models. However, buyers should be aware that this rack is not adjustable. Something that users seem to consistently rave about is how quiet the appliance runs. This is a larger model and is no means a portable dishwasher.
Bosch Ascenta SHE3AR55UC Dishwasher
Another highly rated dishwasher for the person on a budget, this one by Bosch can hold up to 14 place settings with 4 different wash cycles and a sanitize option as well. It does incorporate a delay start if that is a feature you like. You have options for 3, 5 or 9 hour wash delay. The appliance measures 22.56 inches deep, 23.56 inches wide and 35.06 inches high. Some things to consider are that the rinse aid seems to be used very quickly, more so than in other dishwashers, and that it is a little smaller than the average appliance.
Overall it does a good job at cleaning dishes and I like that it saves water. It is also made with an overflow leak protection and runs at 50 dBA so it is one of the quietest dishwashers in its class. The silverware basket is quite long to hold lots of utensils and the upper rack is of standard design and height; on that note, stemware does not seem to fit very well on the upper rack as reported by reviews.
Fisher Paykel DD24SCX7 Dishwasher
For form and function, this dishwasher will deliver. Each drawer is independently operated which means you can wash small or large loads as needed. DishDrawer will let you match the wash program to the contents of the dishwasher so they are better cared for. These include settings for delicate dishes, pots and pans and soak to name a few; you have a total of 9 to choose from. The control panel has a key lock system so young children can’t change the settings mid-cycle and the display is digital. The eco option will help save you water and energy in general. Your wash cycle choices include delicate, fast, and heavy; all of these settings are paired with an “Eco” setting as well that will use less energy, and then there is a rinse cycle of course.
One thing I really like that doesn’t seem like a big deal are the beeps that signal the end of a cycle. The unit is also protected from overflow issues. This dishwasher will hold up to only 6 place settings, so it does not hold as much as some of the others we have talked about. Reviews show that this device has a very short wash cycle that runs in only 38 minutes for more convenience and that installation is easy. This is a highly rated appliance and is an excellent machine for the money.
Kitchenaid KUDS35FXSS Superba Dishwasher
This appliance has been made to compete with some of the more expensive brands and has been found to get 25% better results. The 36 powerful jets in the back of the appliance give some concentrated cleaning. The console has a very ergonomic design which is quite easy to use and will blend well into any kitchen. Both upper and lower racks can be adjusted for more space when needed and that is something many users love about this dishwasher; this makes a great option for large pots and pans, or stemware. The lights on the display will let you know where you are in the wash cycle.
This dishwasher dimensions measure 27.5 inches deep, 23.88 inches wide and 34.5 inches high. It comes with Whisper Quiet technology which means the insulation system keeps the machine more quiet while running, and it is Energy Star Qualified. The controls are incorporated along the top of the machine for that seamless look that many people prefer. You’ll love just how quiet it truly is.
