This system is important because it keeps water from traveling through the edges of the roof, down the walls, in the windows, and ultimately into the house, where it can cause all sorts of problems.

by Rod McTavish on Feb 23. 2010 in Heating/Cooling, Maintenance and Repair
Having a home air conditioning unit is one of the greatest assets for your house. Without proper maintenance, it can also be one of the costliest. If you are forced to call a company like Air Conditioner Repair Atlanta, you may end up paying big time for neglecting to do basic maintenance. Why would you want one of the things that bring you greatest pleasure in the summertime to break? With a little general maintenance, you can keep your unit running smoothly, and avoid a high repair bill. Your unit has two main components, the outdoor unit or condenser and the indoor unit or the evaporator. Where you live will help you to decide how often you need to care for your unit. If you live in a high wind area, or a dry and dusty area, you may have to do more maintenance.

by Rod McTavish on Feb 22. 2010 in Heating/Cooling, Maintenance and Repair
Just a few easy steps in caring for an air conditioner(ac) can save money and extend the life of an air conditioner. Like most home devices, air conditioners need basic maintenance to reduce cooling costs and to stay comfortable in hot weather.
The ideal time to do maintenance is when an air conditioner is not in use; in the springtime or early fall. Like plumbing, it is best not to wait until a pipe freezes to fix a problem that could have been prevented. If you can avoid calling a company like AC Repair Atlanta when your unit goes out, you can save yourself a lot of headache, discomfort, and money.
Toilet Parts and Functions
by Rod McTavish on Feb 10. 2010 in Maintenance and Repair
There are many parts that make a toilet work. These parts are mostly inside the tank of the toilet. Most toilet parts are easily replaced. If your toilet is not outdated you will be able to find parts to fix it.
The toilet handle is a part that operates the flushing mechanism. The handle system has parts on the outside as well as the inside of the tank. Once in a while parts in this mechanism can wear or break. The handle assembly lifts the flapper to release water into the bowl. The flapper is another of several toilet parts. It’s purpose is to seal water between the tank and the bowl. It acts as a valve. When lifted by the handle it releases the water into the tank. This causes the toilet to flush.

by Rod McTavish on Jan 28. 2010 in Maintenance and Repair
We are Wichita painters. It’s what I do for a living. I have been doing it for a lot time, and I’m pretty good at it. It’s truly a skill, even though it can be learned by almost anyone. And, like many other professions of craft, the devil is often in the details.
Today I want to talk about the most important step when painting the exterior of your house. It is a simple step, though sometimes a physically demanding step, and it’s the step a lot of people often slack on, resulting in bad house painting jobs. What I am I talking about? I’m talking about the prep work.
